Adult Education
Saakshara Bharath Programme is implemented by Adult Education Department to eradicated of Illiteracy.
- Saakshara Bharath programme has been inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on 8th Sep 2009.
- In Andhra Pradesh, the same programme was started on 8th Sep 2010 on the eve of International Literacy day by the Hon’ble by the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, in Kurnool District also the Literacy programme was started on the same day ( 8th sep 2010).
Main aim of the Saakshara Bharath :–
- Basic Literacy programme.
- Primary education.
- Continuing education.
- Vocational Educational programme.
The aim of Basic Literacy programme is that who are the age group of 15 years and above illiterates to make them literates. As per the Saakshara Bharath survey a total illiterates of 11,33,888 in the District.
The Adult Education centers have been opened in 889 Gramapanchayities of 53 Mandals since 2010 a total candidates of 7,11,010 have been enrolled. In 7 phases out of 7,11,010 Illiterates 5,58,565 have made literates.
In AEC, each center provided to Neo Learners with graded materiel such as stories to preparation of food for cultivation of land and maintainece of health and also provided with play materiel such as caramboards,chess boards, Chinese choker , kails patam, skipping roaps, ten chairs, carpet and sewing machines etc….
Power finance corporation Ltd has sanctioned 6 Model AEC in the District and provided with 5 sewing machines equipment for testing the Blood pressure , sugar Test ,weighing machine, 30 chairs , Tables, Computer , projector and screen.
90 days training programmes has been implemented in 6 Model AEC’s on tailoring and Computer to 20 candidates on 23-01-2017 by paying 130/- rupees to each tutors per day and completed the course in the month of March 2017 .
100 days Adult literacy programme has been launched by the District collector on 14-04-2018 on the eve of Dr.B.R.Ambedkher Jayanti and also started the programme on the same day by the village Surpanches and MPDO’s at their respective jurisdiction. This centers are running with the co-ordination of Saadikaaramitras, VCO’s, MCO’s voluntarily and also provided door to door services to those who are unable to attend the centers due to their old age and this programme will be completed by end of July 2018. The Adult Literacy Programme is supervising by the teachers, self help groups, Adult Education Staff and panchayati secretaries.
To asses Neo-Literates status the National Wide Examination will be conducted twice in a year i.e. March & August by the National Institution of Open Schooling (NIOS).
The 16th NIOS test was conducted on 25-03-2018 to all 3115 Neo-Learners in the District.
The programme has been terminated w.e.f.31-03-2018 by the Government. As and when the information received by the Government will be followed.
