Achyutha Devarayala Buruzu(Konda Reddy Buruzu) is located in the heart of Kurnool & believed to be built by Achyutha Devaraya brother of Sri Krishnadevaraya the Raja’s of Vijayanagaram in between 1529-1542 AD. It was a part of Kurnool fort & was used as a prison. One revolutionary Konda Reddy attained martyrdom in this prison. Since then the place is known as KondaReddy Buruju

Manthralayam:Mantralayam is situated on the banks of river Tungabhadra and Lying 90 kms from Kurnool.  It derived its importance form the Jeevasamadhi of Madhva Saint Sri Raghavendra Swamy. The Choultries and Sanskrit School are the real attracting of these places and draws thousands of devotees from South India particularly Madhvas. On there the places to see including Raghavendra Swamy Brindavan, the tomb that Swamy entered alive, Panchamuki Anjaneya Swamy Temple and Venkateswara Swamy Temple are the important visiting spots.

Orvakallu Rock Garden: A Magical PlacAmidst the Wonder of Nature:

Orvakallu is an adventure destination unlike any other. Andhra Pradesh Tourism has identified the grandeur of these formations and has set up a 1000 acre park with the fabulous igneous rock formations as the centre of attraction. And it is not too far away from town. Head out 20 kms from Kurnool and one come across this spot, right on National Highway 18. The adventure enthusiast can trek through the serpentine paths here and bask in nature’s unleashed splendor. These hiking paths have been developed by Andhra Pradesh Tourism to enhance the experience. The park is also a favorite film shooting locale.

Ashoka Rock Edicts:- – The greatest kind Ashoka ruled the area.  He made inscriptions near Bramhalipi in Black granite with near Erragudi village in Tuggali Mandal.  Jonnagiri earlier called as “SWARNAGIRI”.  It was also under rule of Emperor Ashoka.  In this location 14 inscriptions situated at this place. From the archaeological point of view, Yerraguidi site is the most important location in the entire South India.

Kethavaram Rock painting:Ketavaram is a vibrant pre-historic site that flourished between 10000 and 5000 BC, kethavaram is situated about 16 kilometers south -east of Kurnool district, Ketavaram rock site is considered one of the important prehistoric sites in the country. The group of pictures depicted the lifestyle of pre-historic man. The animals which found prominently among the figures are deer, stag, antelope, hyena, rabbit and reptiles.

Ramjal lake Adoni: The Ramjala Lake plays a crucial role in Hindu mythology, and it is claimed that the lake was formed by an arrow shot by Rama into the ground in order to provide water for the goddess Sita during Aranya Vaasa. The lake’s direct tributary is the Tungabhadra River, which provides drinking water for the town, and also serves as a tourist attraction with its munificent water birds. With a rich cultural history, the city’s physical geography reflects unique elements of Hindu influence over the span of generation.

Sunkesula Dam: The largest barrages across the Tungabhadra River in Kurnool District. A.P, built in 1861.  This dam is banking on Tungabhadra River between Sunkesula and Rajoli villages.  The Sunkesula village is about 22 KMs from Kurnool town and was ruled by Vijayanagar Kings and the adjacent village named Rajoli was ruled by Hyderabad Nawabs.  This river is dividing separate Rayalaseema and Telangana.  The dam has been renamed after Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy, a former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.  A road crossed on the Dam from sunkesula to Rajoli. Tourists who came from other States also visit this destination along with the local residents.  The Main nearest tourist places/attractions available around this are.   Sri Ranga Swamy Temple, Sri Raghavendra Swamy Brundavanam, Rajoli group of Temples and Rajoli weavers society.

Kurnool Museum:Located near the Handri river in Budavarapupeta, the District Archaeological Museum, Kurnool was set up by the Department of Archaeology and Museums  in 1999. The stone sculptures, displayed on cement pedestals and retrieved from Srisailam, can be dated back to the Chalukyan period and the Vijayanagara periods. Other artefacts include arms and weapons, paintings, inscriptions, pottery and architectural pieces like door jambs and lintels.
